Good Morning Oak Class

We are looking forward to seeing most of you back in class, this week. We will keep posting some work for you, until everybody is out of isolation.

Remember that your spellings for this week were posted on Friday. Try and practice them each day so that when you return to school, you can easily slot back into the spelling carousel.

Thank you to those of you who have sent me your narrative writing from last week. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading them.

Have a good day and I can't wait to have you back in Oak Class.

Aut6.4.1 - Multiply 4-digits by 1-digit

English

In class we have looked at the features in letter writing.

We identified:

  • informal/chatty tone
  • first person
  • paragraphs
  • accurate grammar
  • mostly short/simple sentences

We then thought about the things that Sam might say in a letter to Davey, based on how Sam feels at the end of Cloud-busting

.We came up with:

  • apology (for telling Alex about the allergy or for pushing Davey or for keeping their friendship a secret)
  • Cloud-busting without Davey
  • asking questions about Davey/new school

You need to choose one of these and write a paragraph. Don't wander off into other ideas.

Once you have written your paragraph. Choose one sentence and try to develop it even further.

Finally, read through your paragraph. Does it sound right? Has it captured the emotion?

Make sure your sentences all make sense and that you have correctly punctuated.

Check any spellings that don't look right to you.
