I hope you enjoyed your Easter holiday and managed to have some fun despite being stuck at home. I spent last week in school again and it feels very odd in our classroom without you all. In fact, I have avoided going into it, as it is rather too empty and quiet!
Attached in this week's block is some information from PATINA about the Moving on Parade. There are 2 letters, one for you and one for your parents. Have a look - you have not been forgotten year 6, plans are afoot!
I will be picking up again with a daily Maths and either an English or topic task. As last term, I will post the answers next day for you to mark. I will aim to post a mixture of things you’ve already covered, along with some tasks that cover new areas of the curriculum.
Today’s maths task is all about playing with place value. (Remember, if you know that 4 x 7 = 28 you know that 0.4 x 7 = 2.8 and 0.04 x 7 = 0.28) I have taken the task from a Year 6 text book which is pitched at 3 levels. B is the level I would aim for you to work at but if you would like to start at a gentler level try A. If you want a challenge try C. You don’t have to do all the 3 sections – choose the one you think suits you best.
If you fancy trying something different, Dyson (who makes the vacuum cleaners) has produced some great science investigations. Today I’ve attached balloon kebabs. A friend of mine showed me a photo of their skewered balloon – it looked amazing!
Do continue to email me any work you are proud of, I really enjoy seeing it.
Take care, Mrs Head.
