Morning Chestnut Class
Lots of fun learning for this week. In math's we are going to focus on shape, measurement and time. In English, put on your journalist hats because over the next two weeks you are going to plan and write a newspaper report. But before that, you have a short film to watch but don't watch the film before you have read task one. You have a new audio book this week, which is a beautiful classic story, Wind In The willows, read by Bernard Cribbins (who Dr Who fans might recognise), your parents certainly will...Please continue with the topic tasks posted last week.
The gallery will be updated very soon with work sent to me last week and over the weekend. Thanks for you patience if you have not seen yours yet, last week was a very busy week in School.
Have a great week. Mr Gates
English - Writing
Don't forget to read task one before you watch the film.
This week we are going to learn words with the, 'ou' sound. There are some lovely games on the website I have attached to help you learn them. I hope they are not to tough.
Reading, Wind In The Willows
Today we begin a new book and a new adventure. We are off to the The River Bank, which is very fitting for Summer. We are going to meet some great, fun characters.Today we meet Mole and and Rat and set off for a leisurely row down river.
Listen to the chapter and then discuss with your learning partner (a parent, a sibling or a cuddly toy) how opening makes you feel as you listened. Is this a place we would like to go to or live ourselves?
Identify the words the author has chosen and make a word bank of words, then have a go at creating your own setting descriptions.
