Letter sound 'sh'

Today we are going to continue looking at the 'sh' sound. Today in my lesson we looked at sentences that featured the 'sh' sound, and we tried to spot them in the words! Well done if you found them with me. smiley We then had a go at writing a sentence about a pet fish. yes  If you want to challenge yourself even further, can you write another sentence about one of the pictures below? You could practise writing just the words if you wish, or you could write a sentence. Remember to use your Phonics to sound out the sounds you hear in the words, before then blending them together. yes Have your handy sound mats with you!

If you would like some more 'sh' activities to do, have a look at the ones below! You have a 'sh' spotter story which (just like in our lesson today) you have to spot the 'sh' sounds! How many can you find? If you have a printer, maybe you could print off the story and then colour in the pictures! It could be your very own 'sh' comic! laugh

Also below you will find a 'sh' pairs game. You could print this off and play a game of 'pairs.' Can you pair up the word to match the picture? If you don't have a printer maybe you could make your own pairs game by drawing your own pictures and writing your own words. Remember to relate it to our new sound 'sh.'

Now remind yourselves of the sounds we have learnt so far by playing the game below on Phonics Play. We revised our Phase 3 sounds in my lesson, but can you revise Phase 2? Click on 'revise Phase 2' and see how quick you can say the sounds today! yes
