Phonics

Letter sound 'th'

Today we are learning another brand new sound! Today we looked at 'th.' Before we look at 'th,' don't forget to remind yourself of our Phase 2 sounds we have learnt so far. In my lesson today we looked at our Phase 3 sounds and reminded ourselves of our tricky words. Don't forget about our new tricky word for the week 'are.' How have you been practising this new tricky word this week? laugh After that scroll down to find the Jolly Phonics song for 'th' and Geraldine the Giraffe's video. After you have watched these and sung along to the song, can you spot anything in your home that features the 'th' sound? Can you spot it in any books that you read on Bug Club?

Today I would like you to focus on practising how to write 'th.' Remember you can do that in lots of ways, it could be with paint or chalks! Or with your pencils, or with playdough. Can you also practise our tricky word 'are' too? If you would like an extra challenge I have attached the 'th' workbook for you to look at too! yes

Phase 2 Phonics Letter Sounds

Did you remember all of those Phase 2 sounds? Well done Maple Class! yes
