Thursday 20th Nov

Good morning!

And Happy Birthday to Fearne!!!!

I hope you all had a lovely day yesterday. It didn’t feel so bad isolating once the rain started in the afternoon! Thank you to everyone who emailed in their English work yesterday. I have now heard from most of the class which is great. If you have not sent work yet my email is:

For today’s lesson we have:

The White Rose maths looks at adding lengths today. So as well as using units of measure, you’ll be revisiting learning from previous weeks.

I would like you to:

  • Watch the video, pausing it to think and ‘have a go’ where the teacher prompts.
  • Print the worksheet out and do the tasks where the video tells you to.
  • I’ve posted the answers so you can mark your worksheet when you have finished - just like we do in class. If you got something wrong, try and see where you made the error. Remember we learn a lot by understanding where we went wrong!

This activity can be kept at home and brought in when you return to school.

Today we are going to continue to focus on the spellings set yesterday.

Today you have an unscramble and a crossword to do. If you have a parent at home to work with, why not test out the dictation you invented yesterday? Ask them to read out like I do and then score yourself. You could even organise a ‘run around’ by writing out the words on pieces of paper and running up and down your hallway!

Today’s topic continues with the work on rivers. I have explored Oak Academy (the Government’s on- line learning site) today in more detail and have found some great video lessons.

  1. Follow the link on the sheet I’ve posted under ‘Topic’. Watch the video and have a go at the quiz.
  2. Produce a fact sheet to email to me. I have given more details on the attached sheet

The most important part of the week ….    Results are in!

Moving up we have ….. drum roll please …..

Kit to a Rock Legend

Soren to a Rockstar

Cora to a Support Act

Monty to an Unsigned Act

Well done to those Ash Class rockers!

And this week’s most accurate

1st place is Rio on 91%

2nd place is Saskia on 90%

3rd place is Kit on 87%

Over all the class accuracy has shot up this week so well done! Keep up the hard work. I will announce any new movers on Monday so you have the weekend to get playing! I’ve also played a few RockSlams today … some of you beat me!

There will be no work set on Friday as it is an INSET day and I’ll be logged into school for some remote training. So… you get to enjoy the day off with the rest of the school (although you’ve still got to stay at home).

Talk to you all on Monday,

Mrs Head
