Part four is where Jack takes the magic beans back to mum.

I would like you to chose a positive (happy)  opening to describe how Jack went back to mum with the beans and then write what she did with them.

First, look at the openings below and sort them into positive/negative.

  • Jack skipped happily back home.
  • Jack walked slowly home with the beans.
  • Jack ran home excitedly with the magic beans.
  • Jack strolled home with the beans.
  • Jack dashed home with the magic beans.

Once you have sorted them, choose a positive opening for the next part of your story and write it on your page.

e.g. Jack dashed home excitedly to show his mum the magic beans.

Next think of a negative word to describe mums reaction when she saw the beans.

For example:

  • cross
  • angry
  • annoyed

Write your next sentence. e.g. Mum was angry and she threw them out of the window.

Finish your work by saying what happened that night. e.g. That night a humungous beanstalk grew.
