The books we are going to look at this term are the Lighthouse Keeper's stories by David and Ronda Armitage. They are local authors and their books fit very well with our, 'Food Glorious Food' topic smiley The first book we are going to look at is The Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch, which I know some of you have got at home! If not, don't worry I have shared a video of the story below.

Today's task is all about prediction so PLEASE don't watch the video just yet!

I have shared a picture of the front cover with you, your first task is to try and predict what you think will happen in the story, just based off the front cover. Can you write words, phrases or sentences around the picture to note down your ideas?

Your second task is to watch the first part of the video, up until the part where Mrs Grinling puts the lunch in the basket and sends it down the wire. Then STOP! laugh Can you use the second sheet to predict what you think will happen in the rest of the story? No cheating!

Once you've completed the activities you can enjoy the rest of the story laughyes

Today we are going to look at lines of symmetry. This is an imaginary line where you could fold the image and have both halves match exactly. So if you draw a line down the middle of a shape, if its symmetrical it will look exactly the same on both sides. Remember, it doesn't just have to be a line straight down, it might be sideways or even diagonal! I've put a link to a BBC Bitesize clip to help you to understand.

Your task is to cut out the shapes and decide whether they are symmetrical or not, then stick them in the correct section of the table.

I've also included a quiz if you want to test your understanding even more!

Today I've included some cards with yoga poses on for you to have a go at smiley
