Tuesday

Today we are learning about plurals.

Plurals mean more than one.

You are going to change nouns from singular (one) to plural (more than one).

For example cat becomes cats, cake becomes cakes.

You will be adding '-s' and '-es' to words.

The Rule:

When you add ‘-s’ to the end of a word, listen for the end sound of the word.

Most words just need ‘-s’, but if the end sound is ‘ch’, ‘sh’, ‘ss’, ‘x’ or ‘zz’ then add ‘-es’.

Parents: Have a look at the PowerPoint as this will help.

Activity

We will use food and other items from the story The Tiger Who Came to Tea and change them from singular (one) to plural (more than one).
