Your first activity is to watch our new Katie story, 'Katie and the Spanish Princess'.
Today we are going to look at the first picture in the story, 'Infanta Margarita' by Diego Velázquez, In the story we see the Princess' room. Your activity today is to compare her room with yours at home. Try to write at least 4 sentences and use conjunctions to help you compare, e.g. but, however, whereas. Remember to use your full stops and capital letters, and if you want to challenge yourself try and use an adjective in each sentence.
I've include a sheet with a picture of the Princess' room to help you. I've also left a space for you to draw and colour a picture of your room at home
Today we are going to look at measuring in millilitres. Once you've watched the video and had a go at the sheet, to extend yourself you could try and measure out some liquids. Do you have anything in your house to measure liquids? Spoons, measuring jugs etc. Could you carefully use these to measure out different amounts of water?
Random Act Of Kindness
In the story this week Katie is really kind and shares her chocolate cake with the peasant boy in the painting. So I think we should try and carry out a random act of kindness. It might be helping out with something around the house, like cleaning your bedroom without being asked. Maybe you could help to get dinner ready? Or write a letter to someone/make a card to send to someone to let them know that you're thinking of them and that you miss them. Basically, something that will bring a smile to someones face. I'd love to know what your random act of kindness was
