Week 5

Hello Maple Class and parents!

I hope you have had a lovely Easter, despite it being very different this year. I hope you and your families are continuing to stay safe and well heart

This term we would have been moving onto our next topic which would have been 'Down on the Farm.' This week I thought the story of 'The Little Red Hen' would fit in to this theme perfectly! Please see below a copy of the story if you do not have it at home already, and a document with lots of different ideas you could do with your children at home around the story, just like before the Easter holidays. I will again be uploading daily activities for Phonics and Maths onto this page too, so keep an eye out for those each day.

Thank you for signing up to the reading scheme Epic! I hope this has been useful for reading at home. I am still finding my way around the website myself so I am new to the website as much as you are, but I will continue to assign stories to your child based around the reception aged level.

Over the Easter holidays I have also been thinking of other ways I could engage with the children in Maple Class, and I am hoping to upload a video each week onto Tapestry of myself reading a story. It may be from my own home, but I have plenty of stories in my house from my teaching, and would love to share them with Maple Class. Keep an eye out on Tapestry for those story sessions with Miss Baulcomb smiley

Mrs T also sends her love to you all, she misses Maple Class just as much as I do! Please continue to upload any of your lovely learning and activities onto Tapestry for us to see. Across the school we are starting to put together photo galleries on the website of each class, if you are happy for photos to be included on the website please could you put your permission to do so onto the photos you upload on Tapestry. Thank you to those who have given me permission so far, and of course is no problem at all if you would prefer for them not to be uploaded.

As always these activities are not a check list, so please do not feel that you have to complete all of them, please pick and choose! However it would be great if you were able to complete the daily Phonics and Maths activities if you can to keep the children up to speed.

I hope you have a lovely week, I have loved the beautiful weather we have been having!

Enjoy your week with The Little Red Hen.

Love Miss Baulcomb
