Week 6

Hello Maple class and parents!

To carry on with our 'Down on the Farm' theme, this week the story will be 'The Enormous Turnip.' Thank you again for sharing all of the activities happening at home onto Tapestry, I love logging on and seeing all of the lovely things happening that you have been doing at home. Remember to pop over to the Maple class gallery to have a look at pictures of what everyone has been up to - it'll be a lovely way for the children to see what each other are up to.

When I was in school last week, I designed 'colourful spring cards' with the children for those older, vulnerable people who are self-isolating at home. The school received an email from East Sussex County Council about this, and the idea is for the children to design their own cards, which will be made into cards and delivered to those people with their food/medicine packages. If you would like to take part, please go onto the 'class pages' section on the school website and click on the page 'Messages of Hope.' This will have further details as well as examples from the children who have been in school. I will be sending the pictures off via email (however you could also upload a picture of your child's card onto Tapestry) and I can take it from there, all you would need to do is to send in a good quality photograph of your child's design (if they could be an up close photo of their design, that would be great!) If these could be sent over to me by the end of the week that would be really helpful, then I can get them sent off.

If you have been enjoying the story of 'The Little Red Hen' please feel free to continue with that story if you wish, however if you would like look at another story here are some more ideas based around the story below. Please do remember that these activities are not a check list, pick and choose the activities as you wish, however if you are at all able to complete the daily Phonics and Maths activities, when you can that would be great! I do understand however that the pressures of working from home and home-schooling must be tough at times (however parents you have been doing amazing!) smiley

I hope the children enjoyed 'Storytime with Miss Baulcomb' on Tapestry too. Look out for another story to be uploaded this week.

Have a lovely week with 'The Enormous Turnip' or 'The Little Red Hen' if you wish to continue with that story.

Love Miss Baulcomb
