Hello Maple Class and Parents
I can't believe we are getting so close to the end of the summer term! You have all worked so hard and I have been so proud of how Maple Class have adapted through these strange times. When the children come into school this week they will receive their learning journeys and writing books from the year for them to bring home to keep. The reception year has flown by, and despite the strange circumstances Maple Class have adapted and settled into school life so well.
I have also been impressed with all of the reading happening at home on Active Learn as well as on Epic before Active Learn was set up - well done Maple Class, keep reading, you have been doing a great job!
This week's story we will be looking at is called 'Starry Eyed Stan.' I have included the story below as this is a story which you may not have seen before. I thought this story would fit in nicely to our Pirate/Under the Sea theme. As usual there are a list of ideas and activities based around the book that you could dip in and out of across the week if you wish, alongside our usual daily Math's and Phonics activities. For this week's letter formation practice we will be looking at the ladder letters. When we have been in school we have even began to look at the pre-cursive way of writing the letters, getting ready for Year 1 - so grown up!
Hope you have another lovely week and enjoy the story of 'Starry Eyed Stan.'
Love Miss Baulcomb and Mrs T
