Week 8 - 1st June

Welcome to term 6 Willow Class smiley

I hope you've all had a lovely break.

Our topic this term is 'Into the Picture'. Where we are going to learn about different artists and what they did, e.g. painting, water colours, collage etc. Although we may not be back at school just yet I'm sure we can still make this a fun topic laughyes

I look forward to seeing you all soon,

Mrs Stonehouse

Week 8

Spellings – The /ɜ:/ sound spelt 'or' after 'w' and some common exception words.

                     word

                 work

                     worm

                 world

                     worth

                worse

                     door

                 poor

                     floor

                 wild

The letters 'or' mostly make the sound that's in the word 'born'. However, when the letters 'or' follow a 'w' it changes how it is said and makes an 'er' sound!

Potential activities:

Dusty Words: Can you carefully dust the kitchen worktop or table with a little bit of flour. Then use your finger to write your spelling words in it. Remember you must ask your parents first, and help them to tidy up after!

Choo-Choo Words: Write your spelling words end-to-end, as one long word (like a train). Use a different coloured pencil for each word. e.g. hopmopstoptop

Project

Your project this week is to find out about out about Vincent van Gogh. Can you create a fact file to explain who he was?

Who was he?

What did he do?

How did he do it?

Any any other interesting facts smileyyes I would love to see what you find out!
