We have been lucky enough to be invited to Safety in Action at Newhaven Fort for many years. It is a day where Year 6 get to think about keeping safe, making good choices and preparing themselves for the big wide world. Usually, the event runs across a week and schools that attend are scored for their teamwork and skills on the day they go. It's a tough competition but Oak Class managed to win it out of all the schools who went two years ago - I was very proud.
This year sadly the competition element has gone, but the team that runs it will be sending regular activities so that you can still have the opportunity to learn about keeping yourself safe and preparing for Year 7. Activities will be posted from the key emergency services and other organisations that work with young people.
I will add the activities as they send them to me. I'm not sure how often this will be so you'll need to keep an eye on this section of our webpage.
